I've used it for two winter seasons in a 20 x 20 room over the garage to supplement the faint wisp of air that comes from the main house HVAC system. The room use to be a constant 55-60 degrees. The Lasko is set from November until April on 70 degrees. It has worked very well with no flaws as of yet.

2. Perfect Fit
I have used my heater for more than four years as a supplement to the central heating in my office in three different buildings. It has worked flawlessly and continues to provide excellent service.

Received this as a Christmas gift. Used very lightly in my office. Died after a few months of use. Simply won't turn on. I imagine the electronics fried in it from the heat. More likely, there is a chip in there that causes it to die shortly after the warranty is expired.

It's another piece of junk made in China, now destined for a U.S. landfill.

I have a furnace heat register under my desk that always starts with cooler air before the warm comes out. When the furnace isn't running, my feet get cold and uncomfortable. This was the perfect size for me to use under my desk to keep that space warm (and it radiates up to my hands as well since it really gets my general work area warm.

This is not a huge direct heat product. I've used a heat dish which could almost give you sunburn. This is perfect for getting the chill out of the air without using up a lot of energy. I calculated it to cost about 26 cents a day if you run it for 10 hours (which I don't).

It does have a shut off if it gets too hot (according to the directions) but it looses a star for not having a shut off if it tips over. I don't want to test it out but if it gets knocked over with the heat face down, I'd be afraid of something burning before it could shut off.

Overall, a great little solution for any cold spot.

I did a lot of shopping before selecting this heater. Almost bought another brand that had a special proce offer until I noticed the offer was good only on two heaters. This heater is a much better value. Very impressed with design and functions. My old heater needed a piece of wood under it when it sat on my carpet. This one has nice raised legs! It's easy to carry and operate. Fired it up for this review and works perfect. I may oder another for another bedroom.

I love this space heater, because of the great design and great performance. You can put it against the wall without worries about it getting too hot. It will heat an average size room 12X12 quite quickly. it's quite energy efficient as well.

2. OK heater
It does the job, but when I use it on high setting longer than 30 mins or so, the cable starts to get warm on several spots. The cable looks cheap and nondurable, I wonder if it would melt or cause fire hazard if I leave it on longer. Lasko's several previous models were recalled for a similar reason, that's why I am worried. I am thinking about returning the unit.

I tried a oil filled heater and returned it becouse of a sickning smell coming from it, then i tried a fan heater and it did not do the job for my large livingroom/diningroom/kitchen (all open)I went and got this heater and wow is all i can say, it took trial and error with other brand heaters but this one is great, i highly recommend this heater, it is safe and really throws out some heat! I live in philly and it gets cold in my old house, but this is keeping my living area toasty!

I bought this heater to help save on the gas bill this winter. It seems to be a good powerful little heater. I am using it in the living area and right away noticed a difference in temperature. This heater was easy to assemble, works flawlessly and most importantly, on the slower fan speed,it is so quiet we can leave it running while we sleep. The circulating feature helps warm more area of the room than our previous stationary heater was able to do. I purchased this as an alternative to central heating, and found that this ceramic heater offered good performance for the price I paid.

Standing around 30" high, the Lasko 5365 saves a lot on floor space since it takes up more vertical space than horizontal space. Also because of this design, it can heat up more of the room at the same time.

One other thing I liked about this heater was the safety switch: as soon as you tip it over, the heater will shut itself off. If you immediately pull it back up, the heater turns back on. If it stays down or down at an angle, the heater will completely shut down. For a household with kids, this could be what saves the home from going up in flames.

The heater itself is quiet, and even though it does beep (when you turn it on, or switch modes etc.) the beep isn't obtrusive. I have another space heater which is very loud, so maybe I am making an unfair comparison.

I've been using this heater for almost a month now, and so far, it does a good job of keeping an average sized bedroom warm. I do, however, have a few cons when using this heater during the night.

Pros:
1. It has a remote control
2. It oscillates
3. The low setting is nice and quiet
4. It has a timer, so the unit will turn off after a certain number of hours (1-8 hours)
5. It has a thermostat setting, so it will try to keep the temperature you set it at by turning itself on if the current room temperature is 1 degree below the temp you want the room at, or turn off if the room is 3 degrees above the temp you want.
6. It has a good height. It's not one of those heaters that direct the heat to your feet first.

Cons:
1. Pressing any of the buttons gives out a pretty loud beep (or two, or three). If someone else is sleeping in the same room, he/she will most likely wake up from this sound, especially if they're a light sleeper...

We use this heater as our main source of heat. During the winter we freeze and it won't heat the room over 57 degrees. We have to use a separate space heater in addition to this one to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. Our small heater puts out more heat and keeps our room warmer then this one does.

Great heating unit for rennovated garage
This is a great heating unit. We use it in an office that was converted from a garage. The room does not have duct work from the house and it is very cold without the heat. This unit heats the entire room which was a two car garage so it is a very large space with a high ceiling, larger than more room sizes.

The unit is able to turn off and on automatically and has a very good thermostat that keeps the room warm all day. I usually turn it off completely in the evening and it is pretty quick in the morning to heat up. We live in the South so it is warmer. It might not do as well in the cold Northern spots.

I bought this model heater from Sam's club, for the same price as Amazon. It has easy to use thermostat and fan controls, puts out plenty enough heat for most small bedrooms, and has a great fan output while remaining very quiet by using a blower instead of regular fan blades. I aimed it blowing under my bed and it keeps the mattress warm as with the room. Definitely the best heater for the price range I've ever found.

This is a good heater, it provides very good heat. However, it does have a very strong hard rubber smell. The older one I had is SPT brand and it seems doesn't have such rubber smell. This is an excellent heater. I am surprised at how powerful and quickly it heats. I get cold very quickly, and will be the first to complain about how cold a room is. I have gone through several space heaters, that have either died quickly or I returned because they did not get hot enough. I have used this in a living room and basement and it consistently heats both places very quickly. The recessed handle makes it easy to transport from place to place. Unlike other space heaters that you have to sit directly in front of to be warm, this warms the room entirely. In fact, with this heater, I actually had to turn down the heat because I was sweating and others complained of the high heat as well. I suppose this is a good problem to have with a space heater. The oscillation is smooth; no jerking or clicking noises. The digital feature is accurate, I feel that other space heaters (that require you to turn the dial down until the heater shuts off to set the temperature) are...

2. good heater, bad thermostat design
This heater appears solid and well built. There are three basic functions:heat on low; heat on High; and automatic using a digital temperature display (which uses the high heat output.) I tested this with my watt meter and on low the unit pulls about 1150 watts on start-up, settling at about 750-800 when warmed up, on the high setting it surges to about 1650 watts, then settling in about 1400-1450 watts when warmed up, it takes a bit more on auto or oscillate, and on cool down takes only 14 watts (basically the fan.) Plugged into the wall it draws one watt on standby, and its very quiet at all settings.
This heater warms well, we used in the large downstairs bathroom and its heat output is at par or better than similar sized units. The biggest problem is the temperature control, it does not adequately reflect the rooms heat, maybe just the one foot around the sensor which of course warms up quickly. Our bathroom was at 69F when we turned it on, it ran for about a minute and...

Great Heater for the money with inaccurate thermostat.
This is a grear heater for under $40.00, very usefull in small areas & Large areas as long as the door is shut, very quiet even with oscillating movement.
comes with a decent lengh power cord ( about 6 feet or so) but no cable management feature in the back.
The only thing I don't like about this Heater is the Thermostat that is not accurate and is always off by like +/- 6 degrees ( you set it to 70 but keeps heating passed that number to 76 then shuts off) but hey, don't let that discourage you from buying it because when it's freezing outhere you really don't care much for +/- 6 degrees well I don't.

I live in a mobile home, and this is a really good heater. I will definitely cut back on fuel costs! It is really quite, and has a bunch of different settings that are great.

Had this product running during the night, with the automatic temperature control on. Very quiet and heats the room well. The oscillation is nice and smooth. Works Pretty good, as of now.

I noticed the 1-star review about the blown fuse and hot wire. Maybe they should check the wiring in their house, because my fuse hasn't blown and like I mentioned, I had it running all night on high at 71 degrees.

I love Lasko heaters, my hubby had a 29" pedestal heater that lasted roughly 5 years before acting up, so once it decided to die on us I searched and found this one on Amazon.

It didn't show the current room temperature like the Lasko, only the set temperature so you couldn't tell what the actual room temperature was. It kept turning on and off as if it was trying to maintain that exact temperature instead of turning on 1 degree below the set temperature, then back off at 2 degrees above like this Lasko. And the plastic at the base was grinding and popping when I tried to use it in oscillation mode, which was really annoying.

So it went back and I ordered this one, and am I ever glad we did, I love it! It arrived slightly damaged, but that could have been a manufacturing error as the box was in perfect...

2. Good, but not for light sleepers -- beeps when you change settings
I actaully have the model 5586 which looks exactly like this but the buttons are different. Bought for about the same price $65-67 at a harddware store.

It's great for a small (10ftx10ft) unheated room, but doesn't do much for a large converted attic room with no heating & almost no insulation (which is fine, the product clearly says it is intendend as SUPPLEMENTAL heat, not as your only source).

I like the remote control & that I can have it stationary blowing directly on me or moving to circulate the air. I also like that I can set it to click on when tempature drops below a certain temperature. I like that it shows me the temperature. Those features were (to me) worth spending a little more than the cheaper heaters. I've had it for 3 months and it has made a big difference for cold No. CA nights/early mornings (though our electric bill did go pretty high so I'm not sure we saved $ by running the gas/central heating less).

I find it quiet enough...

Think twice if you are a light sleeper and using for bedroom
The fan is not loud, but I wouldn't say it is quiet either. The annoying thing is that there is no option to leave the fan on continuously, so it cycles on and off with the heater. The problem with this is that you don't have a constant white noise to aid sleeping, but something that could make sleeping not so restful--or worse yet--wake you up. Also using the remote to change any settings creates a loud beep that your sleeping partner might not be so happy about.

I did notice that a smallish room heated up very fast. I'm guessing the large size helps with that.

The remote is sorta cheap, but does the job--with a lot of beeps.

I would say it is a good value at the price I paid: $49.

Stand fan heater much more powerful then compact fan heater. hot hot hot.. Has to be positioned a distant away from people. Thermostat can be set to desired temp and shuts off after a few minutes reaching the setting.

Cons:
Took a while to figure out how to assemble the base/pedestal part. But once that's done evrything's fine.

I find that in general Lasko products are reliable.

2. Heater
I did not like this product. I was very excited when I received. Good price, good size, but I turned on and it stoped by itself. I tried several times. Finally, I gave up and returned it and got my money back.

1. Safety Concern
I took this out of the box and was pleased with how it heated the room to the temperature setting that I picked. It has selectable temperature settings from 60-85deg F in 5deg increments. Also a max heat function. The low econo setting only works on the 60 & 65deg F presets.

The problem is that you can tip the heater over and it still runs! I have tried knocking it over in several directions and it doesn't turn off. This is a big safety/fire hazard since I have a small child and cat that can tip it over. I would say this is a good heater, but I am sending it back because I am afraid it will cause a fire if it were to fall over. I wish it didn't have this issue.

2. love it!
This is my second Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater. We use this heater in our small computer room and it heats up quickly and keeps the room toasty warm. If we close the door, the small room heats up to 78 degrees. If you're looking to quicky heat up a small room (12x12), you won't be disappointed.

Best heaters out there
I always buy Lasko brand heaters. I love the digital controllers and they are accurate (unlike many other heaters I have tried). Some heaters put their sensor too close to the heating area so that it reads abnormally high after running for a few minutes, thus turning off the heater. The Lasko heaters do it right. The temperature you set it at is the temperature the room will be. Also, they are quiet.

In addition, these heaters last. I have owned my original heater for five years, when I bought it on a whim. It has lasted and lasted!

I also like the remote control features (this one does not come with that option, but many do).

This heater is AMAZING! Its around 40-50 bucks and works great. I reccomend it to anyone! The remote control is awesome, you can pick high or low the machine rotates if you want it too. This is mainly a review on the manufacturer-Lasko. Over the years I have bought 2 Lasko model 6350 heaters. I paid $50 at Target for them. One heater was bought for my girlfriend 3 years ago. She has used it heavily as a supplement to heat a bath/closet/single room area and it has worked great. We liked it so much I bought another one for my parents for their RV. They visit us in the winter, and we get a lot 10-20 degree nights even here in TN, and it will heat their 37' RV which is poorly insulated. After one season, my parents heater quit working-wouldn't even power on (1.5 years after purchase). So I called Lasko and they asked for the batch number on the back of the heater. FYI- they picked up on the first ring, no automation, and spoke English. Apparently some of these units (6350) have a bad power control panel. They had me cut the cord, mail it to them w a copy of my receipt, and a brief description of the problem. Five days later I received a new unit, put it together, and it...

Affordable, heats quickly. Nice overheat protection
This is a pretty good heater with bang for your buck. It does not tip over easily (like some people say) unless you deliberately push it over. I love the remote, I can sit at my comp and control the heater from several feet away. Only con is that it won't warm up your feet-since it is on a pedestal meant to give comfortable seat-height warmth.
Timer is great. Temp control is nice, only every time you adjust, you have to adjust hi/lo again. Its a good buy, trust me. I'm going through 45 degree bay weather and this helps.

1. What a relief.
I started out with a little Holmes heater that was $5 cheaper that i got from wal-mart, but the thing was horrible, took forever to heat up a little room even.

I was skeptical of something that looked decent, and assumed it wouldn't perform all that great... but boy was i surprised.

Heats up real quick, nice auto temp set of 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, and 'Max'.. along with manual settings, and oscillating that creates no more noise than the heater does, which is minimal for a space heater. Also has 4, 2, and 1 hr timers on it.

Only downsides, it beeps loud like a microwave with every button you touch, which gets annoying, and it would be nice if they made space heaters with 24 hour timers on them, to plan heating for when i wake up, but none of the kind exist.

Great buy, i think it was 40ish from wal-mart, very happy with it.

2. Great heater and attractive design
Very happy with this purchase. I previously owned the Lasko 755320 Tower Heater with Remote. That one lasted about 5 years and when it was time to replace it, I purchased this one, Lakso 6410.
The reasons I got this one instead is that for me personally, I found the remote unnecessary and never used it.
This one heats just as well as the Lasko Tower with Remote, takes up less space, more attractive design and cost less.
Many people have ask questions regarding increase in electric bill. I have found that if you do not use the oscillating function you will not see much of an increase in your electric bill.
But with using the oscillating function you will see a bigger increase in electric bill. Not sure why it cost so much more to oscillate but that has been my experience.
Basically when running this heater my gas bill has decreased by 70.00 and electric has increased 20.00.
So overall it saves me about 50.00/month. But it not only saves me money every...

Excellent investment!
After receiving a gas bills of around $250 for two months in a row (and I live in Houston, TX, not in some ultra-cold climate), I decided I needed to do something about the drafts in my house besides just turning up the heat. I researched a number of small electric heaters and finally decided on this one. I have now been using it for about 3 weeks, and even though I haven't received my new gas bill, I am quite sure it will be substantially lower because I've been able to keep the house thermostat low while just using this heater to warm the room I'm in.

This heater moves a decent amount of warm air, fairly quiet and efficient, but struggles to take off a serious chill in our large bedroom. Works great in the smaller office room though. SAMS has a couple of these towers available, one being the Lasko, the other a Delonghi (which I never heard of). The reviews of the Delonghi are pretty bad, especially the electronics. In my opinion, the simpler the device the better. Howwever, this Lasko has very good reviews, and I also have their tower fans that have lasted for 5 years plus. Also, in these energy sensitive days, where you pay 11 to 12 cents per KWH, these towers consume electric heating at 1.5 KW. That means 18 cents an hour. So, to save energy in the winter, there is absolutely no need to heat the whole house throughout the night, especially if there are only two occupied bedrooms (or less). So, if you set the room thermostat at, say 55 or 60 degrees,and set the house thermostat at, say 50 (or less for you of envigorating character), you can have a comfortable existance. I bought two of these at Sams for $49.00 each and absolutely love them. They are quite and fit in a very small area. After they get to the desired temp they shut themself off and then cycle back on. Mid-century modern houses are designed for California springs and summers. But the floor to ceiling single paned glass windows let the cold right in.

I borrowed a friend's Dyson Hot heater. Being a designer, I loved the design of it--you can't get more elegant than that. But--what I didn't like was the sound of it--like a tiny Pratt and Whitney Turbo Jet engine--loud--and to me not a "white noise" kind of sound, but actual noise. Even once I got used to the sound of it (and you do), it didn't put out a ton of heat, so it could be on for hours and the room was still cold.

I then got a Lasko Digital Ceramic Tower Heater to try.

You have to assemble the base (snap it together, two screws), then four screws to attach the heater to the base. It took about five minutes--but you do need a philips screw driver.

You also need two AAA batteries, something that the box mentions in small type, but if you get home without it, you won't be able to use the...

The unit is quiet but not very effective. You have to be close to it to feel warmth. If you're more than five feet away the moving air actually feels cold. This heater doesn't even compare to the warmth generated by my Bionaire 3950 which is completely silent and radiates heat from both sides and top. I'll put this Lasko in my office.

I received it in time. Set up was not too hard, but you do need both hands and some ingenuity to get the base together and screwed in. You need a screw driver also, a plus shaped one. Plugged it in and turned it on, I got that fresh Lasko smell which I remembered from my first Lasko heater about 4 years ago. It brought back some memories. Anyway, the smell was virtually gone by the next morning. The remote comes with a screen, which shows the settings, so you don't have to look at the heater to know what the settings are. The remote screen shuts off after a few seconds, and then the first button you press will bring the screen back on, but won't change the settings, only subsequent button presses will change the settings. So just remember, if the remote screen is off, the first button press only turns the screen on. One issue is that the remote has to be pointed almost exactly at the heater, or it wont work, this sort of makes the screen pointless, because if you're lying down, you...

I wanted to review this product for those who were mainly concerned about the amount of power this amazing electric heater draws. Another reviewer stated use of this product blew fuses in his abode repetitively; I too can confirm that behaviour... and you'll soon understand why.

The unit itself is sturdy and quiet. Oscillation is smooth, and the fan (whether being used to blow heated or non-heated air) emits a "whooshing" noise rather than a whine. The fan makes an acceptable level of background noise (I was able to sleep without any problems, and found it relaxing). The unit has 3 modes of operation, controlled by a dial: fan only (no heater), fan and heater (level 1), and fan and heater (level 2). Oscillation is controlled via a separate button, as is temperature controlled via a separate dial. The amount of heat this unit can put out -- despite being adjustable -- is excellent. This heater works perfectly. Some of the other reviews on here mention specific negatives, and I suggest that those people read the fine manual. For example:

Comment: "The Thermometer is inaccurate by a few degrees in most."
Correct. If you read the instruction manual, it states that the heater will heat two degrees above the thermostat setting, then switching off. It will switch on again when the temperature falls one degree below the thermostat setting. This is actually how most thermostats work.

Comment: "The power cable is thinner than what other leading safe room heaters have."
I am not sure what this means. A power cable's gauge (thickness) will be proportional to the current (amperage) by which it is engineered to draw. The thickness of the copper wiring does not correspond to safety, and would only become a safety issue if the thickness of the wire were not rated for the current of which the appliance draws. I would hope to assume that the...

2. Exactly what I needed
Worked great all winter! Was used a supplementary heater in daughters room over finished garage. This could have heated the room all by itself. Looking forward to long durability thanks to the ceramic elements. If you like the look, features, and price.. buy it!

1. Problem with heater
I like this heater. The only problem I have with it is the cord isn't heavy enough. The cord gets very hot and has melted 2 plugs. I think it should be recalled as a fire hazard.

2. Great little heater!
Pros:
-Very quiet. Most noise you will hear is a low hum.
-3 different modes. Low, High, and Fan. Nice to have the fan choice on warmer days.
-Heats very quickly. Heats a moderate sized room in about 20 minutes, and the automatic thermostat is a very nice addition for at night when sleeping.

Cons:
-Only thing I can think of is that I wish the fan was a little more powerful. I wouldn't recommend to use the fan feature as a fan replacement entirely.

Overall, it does it's job perfectly. Great for if you have a room in your house with a bad draft. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable space heater.

1. Nice Heater
This is a good heater. We have purchased it for our bathroom and it does a good job in heating it quickly. We know it states it is not intended for a bathroom, but those that are rated for a bathroom just have a GFI on the end of the power cord. We already have a GFI outlet that I use offering the same protection.

The timer is a nice feature and easy to set from 1 hour to 7 hours or anywhere in-between in increments of one hour. The oscillation works as expected. The power level is either 900 watts or 1500 watts. All of those options are easy to set.

The thermostat is an area we would like to see improved so that it works at the 900 watt setting. Our bathroom is small and really does not need that much heat. The thermostat only works on the high heat, 1500 watt setting. The manual states this if for "increased efficiency" which I do not understand. 900 watts is 900 watts and 1500 is 1500 watts. Have a thermostat turn it on or off does not make it any...

2. Great Heater!!!
We just received our Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater Model #5775 yesterday and could immediately see that this unit really does a great job of heating up our family room. We were using an EdenPURE which was a large applicance, over-priced and not energy efficient. It never really heated the room well. We won't know about the energy cost until we get our next electric bill but as far as the heating it works great!!! It is very quite operating, looks nice and doesn't take up much room. So far we love this heater!!! I had read consumer reviews on this heater which were excellent. Also the price is great. We paid over $300 for the EdenPURE and it was not worth it. It was a rip-off.

I had a particular heating problem. I have a spa room built outside the house over an old cement patio about 6 feet from my back door, so it does not have access to the central heat. The room is not insulated, and has about 1/3 glass windows so I can look out into the yard while in the tub. I'm telling you all this so you will understand that the area is not easily heated. 1. Not Bad.
Grabbed this for $69 at Sams club. The cord and plug get a bit warm but every heater I have had does the same. I have some Tower Heaters which I love so thought I would check out this one.

Not bad at all. What I like is that it can be placed right on the wall and fits just about anywhere. The Towers are great and I use the heck out of them, but I have accidentaly knocked them over, killing them. In fact, I have done that twice so now I know to keep the towers in certain areas where they cant get knocked down.

This unit fits anywhere. It does not oscilate like the towers but does have the leavour(sp?) design which allows you to direct air in a wide range up to down. It has a wide outlet and combined with the directional airflow, it works great.

The Ionizer is a plus. None of my towers have them and they do work so nice to have that feature. The remote is easy to use, as are the remotes on the towers.

2. Great On The Go Heat!
One's individual thermostat varies from person to person. With this unit one can cater their own comfort level to their own liking. Why heat rooms where there not being used. It's so whisper quiet. A regular gas furnace is so expensive and noisy to operate. I haven't gotten the electic bill yet so as a cost saving measure is yet to be determined. The portability factor is fantastic, so light one can carry it room to room. The ionic feature is a definite added plus. I wish I had purchased this type of unit years ago. So far, the temp on the unit has not gotten over seventy two degrees, which is perfect. The settings do allow a ninety degree setting, however anything to toasty could be cause it to overheat. One can set the timer for one hour or more, which helps as a cost saving measure. It's really nice to set the timer and drift off to sleep. Just ideal for a bedroom/bathroom size. With a living room size, it has to run more than four hours to warm up the area. People have ingrained...

A good Heater
I purchased this heater after my apartment failed to repair our heating after 2 months of complaining. I wanted a nice heater that could keep the apartment hot without breaking after being on for a few hours. This one has met my expectations in every way.

I live in a 720 square foot apartment consisting of 1 bedroom, 1 bath, and 1 living room/kitchen area. When the whether hit -8 degrees F, this heater was not able to heat the entire apartment. After closing the bathroom and bedroom, it was able to get the living room back up to 70 degrees though within a couple of hours (from 55 degrees).

In better whether (like 30 degrees F), It can keep the temperature up as well, for the entire 720 square feet. But that is usually only if it works constantly, with only an occasional break (if you are using the auto) every hour or so.

I would not have survived this crazy winter this year without this device. I use it in congruence with a cheap heater the apartments...

1. One of the best little heaters around
Over the years, I've had all kinds of small heaters, both forced air and ceramic. This one takes the cake.

Like most other heaters of this price range, the thermostat doesn't work consistently all of the time, but it works as well or better than any other heater I've used.

What makes this heater great is that it really cranks out the heat! The low setting is great for a small room like a bathroom, and the high setting can bring up the temperature of my large living room in a very short time. I'm really impressed with its heating abilities.

It isn't silent, but it's as quiet as anything else out there. If I turn it on while watching TV, I might have to turn up the volume one or two clicks, but that's it. I doubt it would be prohibitive to sleeping, if you want it in your bedroom.

The oscillation isn't something I've used a whole lot, but eyeballing it, I'd say it rotates somewhere between 45 and 60 degrees.

2. Fan is Noisy!
I've had this Lasko heater for 2+ years and it has worked like a charm... reliable, durable, a little soldier churning out heat. Controls are easy to use and there is a fan only setting for hot days. I keep it near me so the heat output is fine (not trying to heat up the entire room).

What I don't like about it though (and hence my 3 star rating) is the noise from the fan --- it's soooo loud; too loud to have in my office when I'm on the phone, and too loud in the room when the tv is on. If you want white noise when you fall asleep, this is the fan for you. But I'm looking for a new QUIET heater to replace this unit.

Works, but could be better
I did a lot of research online and got a Honeywell ceramic heater from Target. I wasn't happy with it and took it back.

Then I got this one, the Lasko oscillating ceramic heater. I guess I will keep it, but not because it's super great; I just don't expect that I could find anything better.

I like that it has two settings (low = 875 W, high = 1500 W), because my apartment wiring is not great and it worries me when it switches on and all the lights dim. Since I'm just using it to supplement a flaky hot water radiator, I don't usually need to run it on high. I've been running it for about 3 weeks, on low, using about 130 W on average. I just set it on low and use the thermostat to try to keep the temperature in the room stable.

The thermostat, though, is rather schizophrenic. I guess this is a problem with all of these little electric heaters, though, since the Honeywell I returned was even worse. I want this heater to just sit in the corner and...

Lowered My Electric Bill!
I researched for a long time before purchasing this Lasko heater last winter. I bought one and ran a test for a month to see if A)the heater would heat up a rather large living room, and B)whether my electric bill would go down. So, with my heat pump thermostat set on 65, we used this unit in our living area all last winter. Our electric bill was drastically lower! In fact, I liked the heater so much that I bought my daughter one, just to help her save money too.

Best points on the heater are the remote control, the oscillation, and the pedestal which better evenly distributes the heat. We bought 2 more smaller Lasko heaters from Amazon to basically heat up every room where we need heat this winter...and I guarantee that our electric bill will still be lower than merely using the heat pump alone. I had no idea that the heat pump ate up so much power.

This portable space heater by Lasko helps to cut my electric bill. At first I wasn't sure if should get this or a space heater that works with oil inside of it; but I'm glad I got this one instead. It couldn't be easier to set up--just take it out of the box and plug it in! Although you should read the four pages of instructions in order to be familiar with general precautions and to know how to use the timer feature and a couple other extra features, it amazed me just how intuitive it is to get this thing up and running.

After trying a stand up convection heater which took 7-9 hours to heat up our living, dining and kitchen rooms (about 400 sq feet of a 900 sq. ft apt.), we decided to try another type of heater. This heater is the best for this purpose. We do close off the bedrooms and bathrooms but this heater only takes two to three hours to heat up our living room, dining room and kitchen areas. We live in san diego and it is usually about 62 degrees in the mornings here. We warm the apt to about 71-72 degrees. I think that it would warm faster if we had decent insulation in the building and better insulated windows (Including a sliding glass door) but it is an apt so we cant change that. The apt was built in the 60's and management won't go for upgrading anything. 1. The Price is Height
I bought this expecting the extra vertical height to deliver the heat at a more direct level. Which it kind of does but that design is a compromise which doesn't offer a great benefit.

The design gives you the impression that the front fascia is mostly a heat output area but that's a lie. What they've done is taken a typical 1500W wide-type heating element and just stretched it vertically, so the actual area of output is through a 1 inch vertical gap between the center three fins. The lower quarter of the design is for the fan intake too so don't consider that part of the heating element.

What this means is the heat delivery is a very narrow area of effect and you have to be standing within about three or four feet to feel it on your skin. In fact the output even on high is not very hot at all. On the plus side it means the casing remains cool to the touch on all sides, in fact you could actually put your hand over the opening and leave it there. A hair dryer has...

I have a smaller Lasko heater, but I needed a bigger one to heat my 670SF work space. It works great. Really gets the place comfortable. The price is affordable, too.

1. Best space heater I've owned, and I've owned A LOT of them!
This space heater is by far the best I have owned. My office is in the basement in a 17' x 11' room. There is no heat in the room, and it gets very cold. Over the past 20 years, I have owned an assortment of space heaters, but none have come close to this one. To test the space heaters, I time how long it takes to heat the room using an atomic clock that also includes the room temperature. It was 48 degrees in the office this morning. It is now 65 degrees after an hour and ten minutes. This fan-forced heater increased the temperature dramatically. To test it further, we brought the heater to our master bedroom, which is 24' x 24'. The temperature was 58 degrees when we started it here at 8:00 last night. By 10:00 it was 65 degrees in the room. We couldn't believe it. We also own Lasko oscillating fans that absolutely blow away the competition. They have a wider blade span and produce what feels like twice the breeze. We are going to purchase a couple more of these space...

2. Works for 10 minutes at a time, then has to be reset.
I bought this about four months ago to keep me warm while I work in my home office. It worked great for the first two months. Then, about once in every 6 or 8 hours, it would suddenly turn off. Following the instructions that are printed on the back, I would reset it by unplugging it, waiting 10 minutes, and then turning it back on. Then it would run for another 6 or 8 hours.

However, about a month ago the time between resets became shorter and shorter, until finally it reached the point where it would only run for 10 minutes before needing another 10-minute reset. That's such a hassle that I've pretty much quit using it.

It's not completely dead. When it's plugged in, the red power light is glowing. And, as noted, it will run -- and heat -- for about 10 minutes before shutting off.

I see where a couple of reviewers had units that went completely dead. But I'm wondering if anyone else has had the problem I'm having, and if there is any solution (short...

Heck of a little heater
I found the Lasko 6251 while looking for a small space heater. The idea was to heat the area around by more immediate work area while turning down the thermostat for the rest of the shop. I didn't want an oscillating heater, just a small and more focused unit. The Lasco is small and stays out of the way. It has a clean appearance and it is quiet. There is control of temperature and fan speed and a timer can be set for folks like me who leave and forget to turn the heater off.

The unit puts out a lot of heated air volume, even when the unit is set to low speed fan. Air flow direction is set with a small lever that controls louvers positioned in front of the heated air outlet. I have my heater in my Maine workshop set to the lowest setting and lowest fan speed and that is enough for me to work in short sleeves. Finally, great price.

2. Great heater, lacks safety features!
Overview: This is a great small size heater. It has two main setting "low" and "high". The low setting is nearly silent, so you can easily do certain task such as talking or listening to music without some background interference. It has 6 temperatures settings (in Fahrenheit): 65˚, 70˚, 75˚, 80˚, 85˚, and "Max". During the winter time, my room is about 55˚ Fahrenheit, using the max setting it gets my 10x12 feet room heated to 80˚ in 15~20 minutes. It has an oscillating feature that rotates about a 60˚ angle.

Pros: Quiet and many settings to keep your room at a comfortable temperature.

Cons: NO SAFETY FEATURE! I think this is the reason I took off a star. There is no safety function for this heater. If you accidentally knock it over, it'll stay on. I've used other heaters and they have a safety button on the bottom of the heater, if the heater is move even the slightest, it'll turn off as a safety precaution. Now why does...

Very warm heat. Love it! We don't have heat in our upstairs just yet so we needed something to get us by this winter until my husband puts in the ductwork. We have 3 bedrooms and 1 bath and it keeps it warm if we want it to. I love how you can control the heat - it has a setting for 65,70,75 and MAX heat. It has a high and low speed but if you put it on low, you can't set the temp, it just runs on low the whole time. If you have it on high, it will shut off when it reaches the desired temp. It also has a oscillating setting which is nice - I use it at night so it blows in all the bedrooms evenly. Happy with my purchase!

I just use it to warm my workspace and feet in cold weather. It's a real powerhouse compared to what I'm been using. I like also that you can aim it at the cold desktop (which means you must pick it up and tilt it) and it doesn't shut off. Very high quality product.

Lasko is one of the 'top dogs' when it comes to air movement....both on cold or warm days. Very nice design.

1. wonderful heater
I heat primarily by wood, but needed something to heat my living room and kitchen towards those mornings when the fire in the stove was almost out, because I would oversleep. I was skeptical, but decided to buy this heater, due to the cost.(more than 1/2 less than those other heaters) I set the temp. for 70 degrees and went to bed, sure enough I overslept again, and this time there was no fire in the stove at all, but yet it felt good in the kitchen. the Lasko heater had come on sometime during the night and the living room and kitchen were comfortable with an outside temp. of 10 degrees above zero. The thing I noticed was that even my bare feet felt warm. I have used this heater now for 3 months and am very pleased with it. I have noticed no more than a 23 dollar increase in my bill per month, but even with the cost of wood, or especially fuel oil or propane prices, 23 dollars is not much. Very reliable and performs better than expected so we got a second unit. I have recommended it to several friends.

BEST HEATER
This is the best heater on the market. It has 6 heat tubes while many others only have 1 or 2. This is my second Lasko Heat Exchanger. I gave my first one to a friend for her apartment. She absolutely loves it, as I do.
