This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Best space heater I've owned, and I've owned A LOT of them!
This space heater is by far the best I have owned. My office is in the basement in a 17' x 11' room. There is no heat in the room, and it gets very cold. Over the past 20 years, I have owned an assortment of space heaters, but none have come close to this one. To test the space heaters, I time how long it takes to heat the room using an atomic clock that also includes the room temperature. It was 48 degrees in the office this morning. It is now 65 degrees after an hour and ten minutes. This fan-forced heater increased the temperature dramatically. To test it further, we brought the heater to our master bedroom, which is 24' x 24'. The temperature was 58 degrees when we started it here at 8:00 last night. By 10:00 it was 65 degrees in the room. We couldn't believe it. We also own Lasko oscillating fans that absolutely blow away the competition. They have a wider blade span and produce what feels like twice the breeze. We are going to purchase a couple more of these space...

2. Works for 10 minutes at a time, then has to be reset.
I bought this about four months ago to keep me warm while I work in my home office. It worked great for the first two months. Then, about once in every 6 or 8 hours, it would suddenly turn off. Following the instructions that are printed on the back, I would reset it by unplugging it, waiting 10 minutes, and then turning it back on. Then it would run for another 6 or 8 hours.

However, about a month ago the time between resets became shorter and shorter, until finally it reached the point where it would only run for 10 minutes before needing another 10-minute reset. That's such a hassle that I've pretty much quit using it.

It's not completely dead. When it's plugged in, the red power light is glowing. And, as noted, it will run -- and heat -- for about 10 minutes before shutting off.

I see where a couple of reviewers had units that went completely dead. But I'm wondering if anyone else has had the problem I'm having, and if there is any solution (short...

Heck of a little heater
I found the Lasko 6251 while looking for a small space heater. The idea was to heat the area around by more immediate work area while turning down the thermostat for the rest of the shop. I didn't want an oscillating heater, just a small and more focused unit. The Lasco is small and stays out of the way. It has a clean appearance and it is quiet. There is control of temperature and fan speed and a timer can be set for folks like me who leave and forget to turn the heater off.

The unit puts out a lot of heated air volume, even when the unit is set to low speed fan. Air flow direction is set with a small lever that controls louvers positioned in front of the heated air outlet. I have my heater in my Maine workshop set to the lowest setting and lowest fan speed and that is enough for me to work in short sleeves. Finally, great price.

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Nice little heater!
This is a nice little heater. Has the same size
ceramic core as bigger units, but costs less because
theres no remote, or fancy lcd display. But it puts
out just as much heat as its big brothers.
The exterior is pretty cheap, so I can't give it
anymore stars. I believe this heater qualify's for CA prop 65
warning. But didn't see it! Made in China....

2. Great heater, lacks safety features!
Overview: This is a great small size heater. It has two main setting "low" and "high". The low setting is nearly silent, so you can easily do certain task such as talking or listening to music without some background interference. It has 6 temperatures settings (in Fahrenheit): 65˚, 70˚, 75˚, 80˚, 85˚, and "Max". During the winter time, my room is about 55˚ Fahrenheit, using the max setting it gets my 10x12 feet room heated to 80˚ in 15~20 minutes. It has an oscillating feature that rotates about a 60˚ angle.

Pros: Quiet and many settings to keep your room at a comfortable temperature.

Cons: NO SAFETY FEATURE! I think this is the reason I took off a star. There is no safety function for this heater. If you accidentally knock it over, it'll stay on. I've used other heaters and they have a safety button on the bottom of the heater, if the heater is move even the slightest, it'll turn off as a safety precaution. Now why does...

Nice and toasty!
Very warm heat. Love it! We don't have heat in our upstairs just yet so we needed something to get us by this winter until my husband puts in the ductwork. We have 3 bedrooms and 1 bath and it keeps it warm if we want it to. I love how you can control the heat - it has a setting for 65,70,75 and MAX heat. It has a high and low speed but if you put it on low, you can't set the temp, it just runs on low the whole time. If you have it on high, it will shut off when it reaches the desired temp. It also has a oscillating setting which is nice - I use it at night so it blows in all the bedrooms evenly. Happy with my purchase!

It's competively priced with others being only a dollar or two off the competitors prices. Well worth the money!

2. Excelent
This is really good and It can reduce our electricity energy consumption noticeably. Because we actually turn off the home's heating system and use this heater. Noted that it is good for a 5*5 meter room.

1. wonderful heater
I heat primarily by wood, but needed something to heat my living room and kitchen towards those mornings when the fire in the stove was almost out, because I would oversleep. I was skeptical, but decided to buy this heater, due to the cost.(more than 1/2 less than those other heaters) I set the temp. for 70 degrees and went to bed, sure enough I overslept again, and this time there was no fire in the stove at all, but yet it felt good in the kitchen. the Lasko heater had come on sometime during the night and the living room and kitchen were comfortable with an outside temp. of 10 degrees above zero. The thing I noticed was that even my bare feet felt warm. I have used this heater now for 3 months and am very pleased with it. I have noticed no more than a 23 dollar increase in my bill per month, but even with the cost of wood, or especially fuel oil or propane prices, 23 dollars is not much. I also like that the cabinet stays cool on the outside, and this is important when my...

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Puts my baseboards to shame
Kind of hard to believe. My office is about 800 sq. feet. Using two baseboard heaters at max (which costs a fortune) I was still wearing gloves and a down North Face jacket at my desk. Plugged this baby in and the room went from 58 to 69 degrees in about 10 minutes. I have now turned off my baseboards. The whole room feels toasty warm. Wasn't expecting such instant gratification! Highly recommended.

2. Nice quality item
I live in FL and will not get a lot of use from this but there are a few months of the year when it gets cold at night. This heater puts out a generous amount of heat and will keep you warm. It is loaded with features: High heat really heats up the room quick, low heat keeps a nice steady flow of warm air (which my boxer loves) and there is a high/low temperature setting that automatically turns the unit on/off. The remote is definitely a nice feature and the REALLY cool thing is the little hiding slot on the rear of the unit to store the remote. Can't go wrong here ....

Lasko 5572 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control

The 5572 Ceramic Tower Heater with Logic Center Remote Control offers the heat and comfort you've been looking for. You will be able to carry it around with its easy-grip carry handle and use it from room to room with ease. The Digital Display Thermostat and the Logic Center Remote will make the unit easy to control.
  • Ceramic oscillating tower heater effectively heats quickly and effectively.
  • Digital thermostat; low, high, or thermostat-controlled automatic setting
  • Self-regulating ceramic element and automatic overheat protection for safety. ETL listed
  • Remote control, electronic timer with auto shut-off, carry handle
  • 29.75" tall

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. warmer than smaller Lasko using same wattage
Just got this tower heater today. Observations so far:

-I deducted a star because it's a bit wobbly on carpet and on ceramic tile. It's probably too heavy to tip easily, but it bears mentioning. It's quite tall. The space saving of a tower heater is perfect for my small motorhome, so I live with wobble. No idea how this could be corrected without creating unwanted bigger footprint or weight.

-I put it in a different place during the day, so the carry handle is convenient.

-It seems to be more powerful than my smaller Lasko tower heater, even though the watt settings are the same as the smaller heater. Maybe it's more efficient.

-The front definitely needs to be located a yard from any flammables, because the heat coming out is too hot to hold my hand two feet in front of it, even on low, for more than a few seconds.

-The remote is simple to use. The remote's buttons could be more differentiated for easier operation in the...

2. EXCELLENT & POWERFUL PRODUCT
I recently purchased the LASKO 5568 and liked it so much I decided to get another; wound up getting this model instead and can't say enough good things about it. The design is well conceived, solid quality construction, and very effective. Throws out a considerable amount of heat, the fan is very quiet at both high and low, and the options for operation are all useful and work well. Lasko seems to manufacture a series of these ceramic tower units and all are very well reviewed; I checked the review on bestcovery.com and this unit was rated number 1, and for good reason. I use both these heaters in larger rooms (14 X 26) with 9 ft. ceilings and they are effective in taking off the chill and keeping the room comfortable. The fan on this model is so quiet on low I can barely hear it, yet it continues to put out a steady stream of hot air. Appears to be a quality product built to last, and at $68 you get a LOT for your money, I rate this a best buy as well.

Lasko 5572 Ceramic Tower Heater
We were looking for another space heater and a friend recommended the Lasko Ceramic Tower. We purchased a later model, and there were some improvements, such as the carring handle. It is light weight and easy to carry to different locations. It does a very good job of heating the room. We live in North West Tennessee and with the combination of another space heater, we have not used our furnace at all this year. The electric bill has dropped dramatically. We will be purchasing another Lasko next winter. Lasko 5572 Ceramic Tower Heater with Logic Center Remote Control

Lasko 760000 Cyclonic Ceramic Heater

Cheapest Lasko 760000 Cyclonic Ceramic Heater

The Lasko #76000 Ceramic Heater with remote control has precision digital controls, adjustable thermostat and 7 hour timer. The glide system pivot allows warm air flow to be directed as needed. Its space saving design allows it to be placed at the wall.
  • Cyclonic heat penetration for immediate comfort
  • 16.8" x 6.5" x 24.9" tall
  • Multi-function remote control
  • Fresh air ionizer feature
  • ETL listed

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. It really works!
I bought this heater to try to warm up an addition on our home. We've lived here 12 years, and every winter, we've frozen in the den. It's built on a crawl space, and new insulation, windows, and roof haven't helped. Needless to say, I've tried several heaters. Just got the Lasko this week, and it's the first one we've tried that heats the entire room. We're actually at 69 to 70 degrees. Also, it's quiet and the back of the unit stays very cool, so it can be placed right up against a wall. I am loving this heater!

2. Pleasantly Surprised
I just bought this last night at a local home-improvement store (for less than a new one here). I got an extended warranty on it. I plugged it in, turned it on, it started pumping out heat right away! In less than 10 minutes, it heated up my 11x10 living room from 63 degrees to 73 degrees. I am very impressed with this guy, the unit does not feel hot to the touch, it does what it says, and I really like the remote it comes with. FOUR STARS!

Need more appointment... ?
Looks like R2D2 but heats well
Strengths:

Powerful heater, it warms up a room fairly quickly. The heated air can be directed horizontally or vertically with the vent control. This heater would be a good choice in cold climates.

Thermostat seems pretty good at keeping the room at a constant temperture.

Has auto (thermostat controlled), low, high heating modes. Only the low heating mode is quiet.

Cool to touch, can be placed against wall.

Remote control works well.

Weaknesses:

Unit is not as quiet as would be hoped. This may be an issue if you are watching TV or going to sleep with the heater on. In the low heat mode, the fan is fairly quiet, but then the heater will remain constantly on (the automatic mode that controls the heater using the thermostat uses both high and low heat modes). The remote control can help alleviate this problem.

Unit is LARGER than most alternatives (be sure to note dimensions). Not as easy to...

Lasko 758000 Cyclonic Ceramic Heater

Bargain Lasko 758000 Cyclonic Ceramic Heater

Lasko's #758000 Cyclonic Ceramic Heater circulates 1500 watts of warmth evenly throughout the room. Easy-to-use electronic controls; adjustable thermostat; 7-hour timer
  • Cyclonic ceramic heater with space-saving design. Direct warmth where needed with glide pivot feature.
  • Fully assembled.
  • Low/high quiet-comfort settings, plus auto thermostat-controlled setting
  • Self-regulating ceramic element and overheat protection for safety. ETL listed
  • 24.9" tall, 16.8" wide, 6.5" deep

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Very good but not perfect
The unit is very nice looking but perhaps the size is a little overkill. I like being able to place it against the wall and out of the way. Does a decent job of heating a poorly insulated room that is about 300 sq. feet with no other heat source. I was able to maintain the room at 60 degrees when the outside temperature dipped to freezing recently. My main gripe is that the heat comes out near the top of the unit (about 2' above the floor). You can't direct the airflow any lower than horizontal so it stays pretty cold on the floor. Just being about to blow the warm air downward would make me change this rating to a 5 star.

2. Great for small rooms
If you are looking for a cost-effective way to heat small rooms, the Lasko 758000 Cyclonic Ceramic Heater is a great buy. In order to be succinct, please find the "pros" and "cons" below.

Pros:
* Effective and easy-to-understand controls that allow for automatic settings governed by temperature objectives or heating by high or low output
* An illuminated display (easily viewable from 5-10 yards) that indicates the surrounding room temperature
* Directional control for heat output
* Nice form factor that allows for flexible floor placement in terms of space needed and general aesthetics

Cons:
* At higher temperature settings, the unit generates a little noise. To be fair, however, the sound is similar to and no more imposing that a PC or Printer

All in all, this is a good unit for rooms that central heating does not reach effectively. I would definitely buy another unit should the occasion arise.

Need more appointment... ?
A quality unit
I bought this unit to heat a finished basement. Like everybody, I did the research, read the reviews and weeded through the hundreds of makes, models and different type space heaters. For the money this is a good unit. It does exactly what it advertises and I am a happy camper.

Lasko 675945 Stanley 12-Inch Ceramic Utility Heater

Cheapest Lasko 675945 Stanley 12-Inch Ceramic Utility Heater

Stanley 675945 Pro-Ceramic Utility Heater with thermostat features 1500-watt of comforting warmth. Great for homes, garages, basements.
  • 1500-watt portable ceramic utility heater with easy-grip handle
  • Quiet operation; user-friendly control knobs; low, high, and fan-only mode
  • Self-regulating ceramic heating element; automatic overheat protection, ETL listed
  • Adjustable thermostat maintains set comfort level; ETL-listed
  • Takes up almost no space at only 11.75" tall

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Incredibly Versatile Space Heater
It sounds silly, but the handle on the top of this space heater increases its portability tenfold. It's very light, and because it only takes one hand to move it around, I'm constantly switching it from the floor to an end table. The many different heat settings mean that you can be very picky about the heat blasting out at you.

Another feature that I find preferable is that it heats constantly, unlike some space heaters which practically light you on fire but come on only intermittently. This handy space heater stays at the temperature you choose the entire time. I've run this thing for 10 hours at a time with no ill effects. It lasted through last winter and is still going strong this winter. When I had the flu for a couple of weeks, I hunkered down on my couch with this on the coffee table and baked myself every single night for the entire night.

I adore this thing and I'm about to order another to keep in my office. (I live in a house that was built in...

2. Good heater despite a directional issue.....
I bought this heater in November 2010 from another seller. I first used it in a room that did not have a carpeted floor and it provided good heat for its size although the temperature was only about 60-degrees F so it really wasn't much of a test. At the end of the month when the temperature dropped to the 40s and 30s at night, I used the heater in a rather small 15' x 13' carpeted room and almost froze until I realized this: the heater blows its heat downward toward the floor. I was about to return it for being defective until I decided to try sitting it on a small box I had. After I put it on the box, it started heating the entire room with no problem at all - even getting too hot at the highest setting. The fact that it blows downward could be a defect, but I am thinking that because this is actually a utility heater, it is made for non-carpeted rooms which helps bounce the heat around the room or keep it from igniting items directly in front of it - although I could be...

Lasko 6405 Designer Oscillating Heater

Deals for Lasko 6405 Designer Oscillating Heater

The Lasko #6405 designer series ceramic heater offers electronic touch control operation with style. This heater is self regulating for enhanced safety and features a safe ceramic element, overheat protection and cool-touch housing.
  • Widespread oscillation
  • Adjustable thermostat with automatic shut-off timer
  • Fully assembled. 7.2" x 7.2" x 16.18" tall.
  • 1500 watts of comforting warmth with high, low and thermostat controlled settings
  • ETL listed

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Really good
I had a different Lasko space heater for a few months before this one. all the power settings and wattage are the same, but this one performs much better. I appreciate the smaller size and pleasant aesthetic design of the 6405.

This one heats the whole room, where the other one was very directional in it's heating. I like that it has a variety of thermostat settings, and you can keep it plugged in when it is not in use. I thought I would miss not having a remote control, but it turns out to be a non-issue.

I highly recommend the Lasko 6405.

2. Excellent
This heater is phenomenal and for only 43.00 bucks! I have a kitchen and 2 large rooms downstairs, this heater heats all three rooms nice and toasty. I come home from work, turn the heater on and the whole downstairs is warm within 15 minutes. I don't understand the people that gave this poor reviews. It's very pretty and it does a heck of a job heating up even large spaces. The odor that comes from it comes from all heaters including my baseboard heat when 1st turned on for the winter. The smell from this heater goes away after a few uses.

This heater has a timer feature, oscillate on/off, hi/low settings and temp. settings from 60 to 85 in 5 degree increments. No remote, but seriously do you want to pay an extra 10 bucks to have a remote for your heater?!! Seriously!!! Also I like this heater so much I'm getting 2 more for the basement and bedroom. Instead of having my baseboard heat all the way up to 74-76 in the winter I have it set to 68 and just have the Lasko on...

Need more appointment... ?
Exceeded my expectations
The unit heats a very large master bedroom in less than 15 min. and its immediate surroundings in about 5 minutes (no kidding). I have another one, a Garrison tower, which I use in another room and it is nothing near the efficiency of this one and I had paid the same price.

Was expensive as it does not sell in Canada - so had to pay shipping, etc. But so so stylish! Like no other. Matches my Tuscan décor perfectly! But was concerned I was paying for the style. Thank goodness it is AS EFFICIENT AS IT IS STYLISH.

Lasko 101 My Heat Personal Heater, White

Buy Lasko 101 My Heat Personal Heater, White

Lasko's #101 MyHeat Personal Heater economically warms you. Not a room heater; a personal space heater. Why pay to heat the entire room or office. Heat only your space.
  • Lower power useage saves on your energy bill and helps to elimanate tripping the circuit breaker if multiple heaters are used in an office setting.
  • Energy-smart, uses only 200-watts
  • 3.8" x 4.3" x 6.1" tall. Fully assembled.
  • Safe ceramic element, overheat protection and cool-touch housing
  • ETL listed for safety

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great way to heat your personal space
I use it discreetly at work where it is cold and regular heaters are banned. Now I can work in comfort while my neighbors in surrounding cubes bundle up. Best of all, it is quiet and no one know I have my heater on. The size was bigger than I had expected but it hides well behind my laptop screen when not in use. Highly recommended.

2. Great little Heater
I agree with all of the reviews that I read when I bought this little guy. It's a great little heater that doesn't heat too much area; it's a personal heater. If my hands were cold I could put it on my desk or move it to my feet if they needed to be warmed up. It's about the size of a computer speaker so it's easy to move. Love it!

Lasko 5365 Ceramic Pedestal Heater with Remote Control

Bargain Lasko 5365 Ceramic Pedestal Heater with Remote Control

Lasko's #5365 30" Digital Space-Saving Ceramic Pedestal Heater with multi-function Remote Control offers 1500 watts of comfort.
  • Simple stand assembly required
  • Widespread oscillation; programmable thermostat; 8-hour timer
  • Low/high quiet-comfort settings, plus auto thermostat-controlled setting
  • Self-regulating ceramic element, cool touch housing and overheat protection for safety
  • ETL listed

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Nice heater, check the features to see if it's for you
This could be a very good heater option for some people, if the features fit what you need.

It takes up relatively little floor space, and the pedestal design puts the heater up a little higher, if that suits your needs. (A regular tower heater might be fine for lots of people, though.)

It's 30 tall" and the base is a 12" circle. The top part is about 7.5" wide at the top (the widest part).

Pros:
- High 1500W (5118 BTU) and low 900W (3070 BTU) settings. And two fan speeds to go with that - the fans runs more slowly and quieter on low - which is a feature that's missing on many heaters for some inexplicable reason.
- Quiet for a heater with a fan, especially on the low setting. (But that can't be used with the auto thermostat setting, see below!)
- Well built, and well packed.
- The light weight and convenient handle, at the top of the back, make it easy to carry and move around.
- The controls are well placed, easy to...

2. An Excellent Option: Updated 1/28/09
This heater works great! Now I have to give a little disclaimer: I don't have much experience with many different brands or types of space heaters. I do know however that this space heater kept a 20'x25' room at 85 degrees no problem. I should mention that one of the walls in this room is almost entirely windows (which lose heat quickly).

Pros:
-Comes with remote
-Is quiet (It sounds like a fan on a low setting)
-Heats well
-Space efficient (takes up little room)
-Very lightweight with handle (easy transport)
-Won't start a fire! (I touched the face of it and held my hand to it on high setting, it is warm but not painfully hot. The entire rest of the unit stays so cool it is amazing!)

Cons:
-Control Panel is only visible from almost directly in front (I thought there was something wrong at first because I couldn't make out anything on it)
-Timer Function: You may only set the timer to go for a certain length of time. I was...

LASKO SPACE HEATER - BOUGHT TWO
We try to reduce our heating bills by keeping upstairs doors closed, setting the furnace thermostat down and using space heaters for the room we are in. Last year I tried several space heaters. All but 2 stopped working. This year I bought the LASKO heater. After a month of using it I ordered another. We use them constantly. What we love about it: the base and shape of it, extremely quiet, heats a small room well, the timer feature and remote are very nice. Dislike: haven't found anything yet. If these continue working all winter, I will be very pleased. So far we have ran them to death and had no problems with them.

12/07/09 - Update on this heater. I bought these two space heaters over a year ago. I covered them during the summer to prevent dust and the one other thing we don't do is use the oscillating feature. From trial and error with other floor heaters, that seems to wear them out quicker. Both these units are now into heavy use over the last month for...

  • 1500 watts of comforting warmth with 3 quiet settings; fan only, low and high heat
  • Fully assembled with carry handle. 8.34" x 6.55" x 11.66" tall

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Nice but Noisy
Ordered this product a couple of weeks ago. Looks very nice. Heat is effective. It also has a nice handle to carry it.

However it makes as much noise as a hair dryer. Therefore is hard to keep it on for too long. Am considering returning the item.

2. Do Not Use This Heater In A BATHROOM
Lasko Heater Model 5409 is the newer version of its predecessor, Model 5429 (according to Amazon; which I don't dispute).

BELOW, is my review of Lasko Model 5429. The info about Lasko Model 5429 also pertains to its successor, Model #5409.
SHORT STORY: If you use either of these heaters in a bathroom, the life of the heater will definitely be shortened.

I have owned two of these terrific little heaters -- Lasko "Oscillating Ceramic Heater Model 5429."
HOWEVER, I have learned that the manufacturer states that this heater SHOULD NOT BE USED IN A BATHROOM. Not due to safety reasons, but FOR THIS REASON: The dampness/humidity from showers and tubs causes the heating element to corrode -- causing the heater to permanently stop working.

I bought my second one of these heaters in July 2012, and on December 31, 2012 (6 months), the heater "died." Location where I used the heater: the BATHROOM.

Works super well for a small thing!
Bought this heater for our office spaces and these work so well! The heat coverage is great and it's a very simple, non complicated heater so the functions are simple, hi or low and fan. Temperatures are adjustable and simple dial too. The sound doesn't bother me or my coworkers, it's not that loud, you can hear it but it's not annoying or causing an increase in speaking volume. Someone said it's as loud as a hair dryer -- that is inaccurate and over exaggerated. It's a calming background noise. Definitely good when the office gets too quiet.

I Love this heater and I hope it lasts me for next winter too if not, it's so decently priced, buying a new one isn't a problem! I recommend it!

Lasko 5624 Low Profile Silent Room Heater, Black

Cheap Lasko 5624 Low Profile Silent Room Heater, Black

Lasko's 5624 Low Profile Silent room heater with digital display, adjustable thermostat and auto-off timer, black.
  • Warranty Description: 3 Year Limited Manufacturer Warranty
  • Heating Element: Ceramic
  • Room Size: 100-300 sq. ft.
  • Power Wattage Output: 1500 Watts
  • Safety and Security Features: Auto Shutoff, Tip-Over Protection
  • Number of Settings: 1
  • Power Source: Electric

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Does its job well
I needed to heat the finished portion of my basement. There is some residual heat from the furnace located behind closed doors in the unfinished portion of the basement, but not nearly enough. I live in Massachusetts and the temperatures outdoors lately have ranged from overnight lows of 14 degrees to midday highs of 35 degrees or so. The finished portion of the basement consists of two rooms with a large opening between them (no door). The space is about 550 sq. ft. total. After initially trying a Lasko 758000 cyclonic ceramic heater, I found that model could only get the space to about 65 degrees after letting it run for 24 hours. This low-profile model, however, warmed the space from 65 to 70 degrees within 30 minutes of turning it on. It has now been close to two hours, and the room temp. is holding steady at 69 degrees. Unlike the cyclonic ceramic, this heater runs absolutely silently. I recommend this model to anyone with similar needs.

2. Works well to heat up my bedroom
I've had this heater for almost 2 years. It is great as a bedroom heater and very quiet. My only issue with it is that if you turn it on and don't set the temperature it defaults to turning the heating element on constantly until you make an adjustment or turn it off. I feel like this is a dangerous default operation and that it should default to having the thermostat set at the last temperature that you used (e.g. turn it on and it's already set for 68 degrees instead of in FULL ON mode). I have turned it on and forgotten to set the temperature a few times and woke up in the middle of the night to my room at 90 degrees. Yikes.

Purchased two of these. Both broke within three weeks and almost roasted my kids.
If ever a product deserved a one star review it is this one.

I purchased two of these at the same time to use in my kids rooms to keep them a little warmer at night during the winter months.

The first one worked for two weeks then inexplicably began turning itself off after 5 minutes. I tried resetting it per the manufacturers instructions but it continued to run for no longer than 5 minutes before it would go into protect mode and shut itself off.

The second one worked for three weeks before it had a fault that caused it to bypass the set temperature and run continuously all night! I went into my toddlers room to wake her up in the morning and found it was near 100 degrees in her room! I tested the unit out downstairs and sure enough even with the set temperature at 80 degrees it would just keep on running.

I contacted Amazon and they were awesome as always and refunded my money for these two units.

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. No thermostat on LOW, otherwise very nice.
only 3 stars, because of this design flaw issue:
I like it, and it's not blowing my circuit breaker when it's in the HIGH setting, in the room I need it in, so I'm not going to return it.
Others may not be so lucky due to an inexplicable design decision:
I really HATE that when you turn it to LOW setting, you CANNOT USE THE THERMOSTAT!!!
As soon as you select a thermostat "temperature", it automatically switches from LOW to HIGH power, and could then trip a typically overloaded circuit breaker.
If you MUST use the low setting because of your homes wiring, your only choice to keep it from running continuously, is to use the TIMER feature.(minimum 1 hour)

I've had many heaters, and NONE with a thermostat behaves this way in low setting!!
(Including the same brand cheaper LASKO 754200 ceramic heater that I also bought.) Inexplicable.

I've got some areas of the house that I'll blow the circuit breaker if I use the HIGH setting.

2. Awesome Little Heater
I am very VERY pleased with this purchase! Big thanks to the woman who actually suggested this product in a review I was reading about another I was going to purchase. A little unit that seriously kicks out the heat. I use it for an open area den-there is a draft from main home entry on cold nights. I sit it between door and lounging area. No more cold air is felt across the floor and even warms up the den area. Had thought the remote was an unnecessary perk -- not anymore! Extremely pleased with this unit.

Looking to heat a room in a jif with a little style? Here you go!
So I live in a small (I mean small - less than 400 sq ft-YIKES!) cottage. I can not swing my cat. It's ALL electric and my PG&E bill is bananas WITHOUT using the heat. So I suffered in the cold until my sister told me she had a lasko floor heater. I wasn't impressed when I saw it (not this one) but I honestly didn't care because I was tired of freezing to death with layers of clothes on. It's murder trying to get going in the morning (skipping showers cause it's too cold :(-C'mon!!). I saw this Lasko and was super excited. It LOOKED interesting, better than my sisters, well on the internet picture anyway. If you have ever lived in a small place you have to know ANYTHING you add to the decor, grows 5 times it's original size. I didn't want a contraption in the middle of my place. Well I'm here to tell you I in fact received it and was instantly satisfied with it's appearance. It's rather elegant - as elegant as you can get being a heater and made of plastic. The base is...

1. Great for small and even larger spaces
I haven't checked my electric meter yet, but so far this heater covers the area I am in most of the day, so that I do not even have to turn on the furnace. Of course, I live alone, so that might not work for some people, but it puts out well and I like the various settings.

2. Perfect Heater
Perfect heater. Remote is killer and so is the auto timer so it doesn't stay on all night if you leave the room.

I love this heater!
So compact but puts out some big heat. Works really well for my living room when we are spending time in there and do not have to heat the rest of the house. Already seen a reduction in my natural gas heating bill. So glad I bought this awesome heater!

  • ETL listed.
  • Etl listed for safety
  • Simple base assembly required

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Lot of heat for a 1500W unit
I bought this heater based on the features and a good CR review as there were a limited # of reviews on Amazon. One thing I liked about this heater is it puts out heat at approx. 24" off of the floor. I use it in my home office and my two previous Holmes ceramic heaters were very low and would direct the heat into my computer air intake which wasn't very good for me or my computer. Although I really didn't think I needed a remote to change the heat settings, I find it very useful to control the oscillation or temp setting. You can change all settings manually on the front panel if you loose your remote. It seems to throw out much more heat than any of my previous 1500W heaters and easily heats my 16 x 16 ft room in short order. The LED display is well lit and the construction is fairly impressive and sturdy. The fan seems to have much more CFM than your average space heater, but without any real dicernable noise especially when on the phone etc. About the only thing I can complain...

2. Electrical Power Usage
I put this heater in use at the beginning of December, 2012 and kept track of the power usage with a Kill-A-Watt meter for that month. I ran it for about 8 hours every night set at 65 degrees to keep the master bedroom warm while the whole-house thermostat was set at 60 degrees. For the month of December the heater used 112.39 kwh which at my electrical rate in Michigan cost $7.83 or 25.2 cents per day. I consider this to be very good. The house is well insulated with outside storm windows on the bedroom. The bedroom is 14x17 ft with an 8 ft ceiling that slopes up to 14 ft.

The only downside that kept it from getting five stars is that it is a bit noisy.

Great product!
Great product! Immediately turns out a lot of heat but the heater itself stays cool to the touch. Love the setting to have the heater automatically monitor the room temp and switch on and off in order to maintain the desired temperature. The only thing I do not like about the heater is that after being turned off, when you turn it back on it goes straight to the heater setting instead of "remembering" that we had been using the automatic temperature monitoring setting.

Lasko 5812 Automatic Air-Flow Heater with Temperature-Regulation System

Bargain Lasko 5812 Automatic Air-Flow Heater with Temperature-Regulation System

Lasko's #5812 Automatic Air-Flow Heater uses fan forced heat to spread warmth throughout the room. Heat regulator adjusts heat output as the temperature changes, maximizing energy savings. Uses only 750 watts to maintain comfort. Space saving design can be placed at the wall.
  • ETL listed
  • Automatically adjusts from 750 to the maximim 1500 watts as needed to maintain comfort
  • Thermostat-control knob and illuminated power switch
  • automatic overheat protection; tip-over safety switch
  • Measures 14" X 6" X 11.5" tall

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great Electric Heater
The Lasco 5812 is a very good heater especially since it has stronger fan forced air than any other I have tried & still not loud, even stronger air flow than one costing over $90. It sends the air along the floor rather than out of the top. Moving warm air can be felt for at least 5 feet from the heater. I measured it. One serious drawback is that the thermostat even though it controls the heating of the air from a lower level of 750 watts to a high of 1500 watts, it will not cut the heater off when the thermostat setting is reached. It will only lower it to the 750 watt maintenance level. This is not a problem if the heater is located where you can turn it off yourself when the room is warm enough or the temp is too cold for it to need to shut off. Where I find a problem is in my office which is unattended for hours at a time and over night or I am away on a trip. I like to keep my computer, etc. at least 60 degrees when I am not around. Since the outside temp varies from night to...

2. Not perfect.
The build quality is great, but it is louder than most heaters and the thermostat will never shut off the heating element even at the lowest setting. The noise isn't outrageous, but it's definitely on the loud side compared to other forced-air heaters I've used. As for the thermostat, this probably wouldn't be a problem on a very cold night or in a large room. In my small room on a mildly chilly night, however, the heater remains on even when the dial is on the lowest setting. I was roasting. Too bad. The build quality seems really solid, and it comes with a three-year warrantee.

Great Heater
Great Little heater, good Build Quality, unit won't shut off when at set temp . It's just a simple good little heater. It has a thermostat control, power switch, auto shut off if tipped, and forces are from the top and hot air forced to the bottom so you can place the heater against the wall if needed

Lasko 5307 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater, 16-Inch

Bargain Lasko 5307 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater, 16-Inch

Features built-in carry handle. Safe ceramic element, overheat protection, V-O safety plastic and cool touch housing.
  • 8 hour auto-shut-off timer
  • High, low and Adjustable thermostat settings
  • Fully assembled. 15.2" tall.
  • 1500 watts of comforting warmth with high, low and fan only settings
  • ETL listed

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Effective Whole-Room Heat Source!
I've had mine about a week. Initial impressions so far are all very positive! This model is yet another 1500 watt ceramic heater and there is no shortage of them from several makers. Initially I set out to buy one of those fake portable fireplaces or wood-stoves with the visible fake fire inside. Reading all the specs and user reviews I could find on every one of those fireplaces and stoves it seems the maximum heat they put out is exactly the same as this far more compact and much less costly Lasko heater. About 1,500 watt power consumption and approximately 5,100 BTU heat output is the most you'll find in a portable room heater for home use. I settled on the ceramic type because of the rapid heating since I am only going to run it when I'm in the area where it is located. Ultimately since I only need an auxiliary heater a few months out of the year I decided that I really didn't want a fake fireplace or wood stove collecting dust the other 8 months of the year when I didn't...

2. Great buy
I was very reluctant to purchase this heater and did so based on the only 3 reviews I could find. I have a basement room in my house that can get pretty chilly during the midwest winters (approx. 20 degrees outside = 55-60 degrees inside).

I thought about the infrared cabinet heaters that have become so popular but didn't have the $175-$300 to pay for one at the time. I have to say, I am extremely impressed with not only the quality of this little heater (the size of a surround sound stereo speaker) but with the effectiveness at heating the room (approximately 400 sq. ft).

Very pleased... I think you will be too.

Good heat from a small size
I have the "designer" version from this maker and wanted another for the bath downstairs so took a chance on this one. It is a different style but basically the same quality. Was not disapointed, it is just as well made and trouble free as the designer one and heats up my bath very nicely. Also it has a nice long electrical cord which makes it easy to place where you need it. I expect to use them both for years to come.

  • Made in China

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Finally!
Reading the other reviews of this product I realized I had to write one of my own to help potential purchases realize they will really be missing out if they bypass this heater. This is the fourth space heater I've purchased in the last two months and finally one I can keep.

My living room has three sets of glass french doors, high ceilings, and lots of windows. It is very hard to heat it, but there is no central heating system, so I have to rely on space heaters. I tried the expensive Vornado (over $100), which didn't make a dent in the cold, the noisy Honeywell oscillator (which not only gave me a headache it was so loud, but also didn't provide quite enough heat, though it heated better than the Vornado), and the WindChaser radiant heater (which left the room freezing cold but made me sweat at the same time, extremely unpleasant). Finally I found this item.

It heats the room to the point where it actually shuts off sometimes, having reached the desired 65...

2. Very nice heater with a remote
I bought one of these at Wal-Mart for $28 (their normal price is ~$42). Since it is a 1500 watt ceramic heater, it heats as well as any other ceramic heater that draws that much current, so nothing to comment about on that point. What that means is it will heat up your room, but it will take a while if it is not a small room. To be expected. Since it is not a radiant (quartz) heater, unless you stand very close, you will not feel a lot of warmth until the ambient T goes up and that will happen from the ceiling area on down.

It operates quite quietly (fan and rotation)and is not annoying. The rotation is smooth. The remote is a very nice touch and handier than I thought it would be. The LED display is bright, but located on top, so you can't see it from the front of the unit if you are seated. A design flaw, I think. The three warranty is nice. Cobstruction is pretty much all plastic, so I wonder how well the heat grates will stand up over time when the plasticizers...

Five years and still going strong. Great range of control, heats well, turns itself off by temp or timer.
This is a rewrite of an old review. I initially gave it four stars and went on a bit over that I felt the cord should be heavier and would likely be the thing that ends up putting this thing out on the sidewalk. Well, I've owned and used this heater for five years now and can absolutely confirm no problems.

Further, we rent the entire floor of a townhouse in Queens, New York City and this heater has been great particularly for changes of season when the landlord typically doesn't turn on the heat. It makes a big difference in our comfort when our home would normally be cold and uncomfortable without it.

It heats a rather large space very well and you don't have to be sitting right in front of it get toasty warm as the fan is strong enough to blow hot air quite a distance. It is also not too noisy--no motor noise from the fan or buzzing from the heat element, just the sound of air moving.

It can oscillate, but we never bother using that feature...

Lasko #100 MyHeat Personal Ceramic Heater

Buy Lasko #100 MyHeat Personal Ceramic Heater

Lasko's #100 MyHeat Personal Heater economically warms you. Not a room heater; a personal space heater. Why pay to heat the entire room or office. Heat only your space.
  • Lower power useage saves on your energy bill and helps to elimanate tripping the circuit breaker if multiple heaters are used in an office setting.
  • Energy-Smart, uses only 200 Watts
  • 3.8" x 4.3" x 6.1" tall. Fully assembled.
  • ETL listed
  • Safe ceramic element, overheat protection and cool-touch housing

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. very impressed for small size
have used for one day so i cant comment on durability yet. this little thing after it warms up will put out some heat comparable to a normal 1500 watt unit. this does not move a ton of air, so its not good for room heating, just personal space as advertised. i tried mine out at work in a larger open bay type environment, room was 62-63 and put this little heater about 18-20 inches away and on a small box about a foot off the ground. you can feel a nice warm stream of air blowing over you, good for keeping the chills away. would recommend in an office environment working at a computer, case stays perfectly cool during use and is very quiet. front grille can get very hot and needs time to cool after use. other good things, its only 200 watts so no need to worry about tripping a circuit breaker.

UPDATE:
have been using this heater for just about a year now and still love it. (let me re-phrase this due the comments) i brought this heater with me while stationed in korea...

2. Effective and Low Wattage
I purchased this little heater to warm my desk area at work. We cannot use the high wattage heaters because of the risk of overloading the electrical circuit and shutting everyone else down.

The 200 watt MyHeat heater is just about perfect for my intended purpose; heating the space around my desk. It puts out a decent amount of heat; it seems to be more efficient than other heaters using five to seven times the wattage, quite a bit of heat for a mere 200 watts.
The only thing it could benefit from is a thermostat to shut it off once the desired temperature is achieved. For my usage the missing thermostat isn't a big deal, this is why I gave it five stars.

Summary: Nice looking (multiple colors available), small size(smaller than my PC speakers), quality power cord, low wattage, good heat output. A worthy purchase.

Love this little guy!
I have 3 of these that I bought locally & really like them. I took one to work to use in my cold office & it heats it up a treat! The other 2 are at home. One in my tiny cold bathroom & the other stays in front of my armchair.
I don't need to crank up the central heat at home when I'm feeling a bit chilly & my tightwad boss doesn't complain about me running up his power bill at the office. It's great not to have to beg for a piece of coal from Mr. Scrooge!

  • Tower heater with elongated self-regulating ceramic heating element, automatic overheat protection and cool-touch housing. ETL listed

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great heater - quiet and effective.
This is a great heater! We use it to heat the living area of our RV. The living area is approximately 26' x 10' with normal height ceilings. We've tried a few different compact room heaters, but they were too small to heat the area and also way too noisy. We've had the heater about 4 months now. Since we are staying in cooler climates, we've used it almost every night (overnight).

The best features about this heater are:
- It's QUIET!!!
Really!! We have tried many heaters in our RV and house over the years and they tend to be so noisy. The model we tried before purchasing the Lasko was so noisy we had to crank the tv volume up to hear over it. This Lasko seems to be about as quiet as a fan could be.

- It has an automatic thermostat you can set.
This model has a high/low and auto setting. The high/low settings are not thermostat controlled. You simply choose hotter or less hot air. :) The auto setting allows you to set the thermostat to the...

2. Love almost everything about it--except where's the handle?

GREAT!
this heater is a life saver! my room mate and i are too cheap to have the heater on all the time. when we are home we have it on at a tolerable 65 degrees and turn it off when we leave the apartment. the heater is a great way to save on the bills and is eco-friendly. it heats up my room very well and pretty fast.

i decided to get lasko just because my boss has one in his office and i do like it. i also saw it at wal-mart and for only 45 dollars (w00t) and it's up for 75 bucks on the lasko website (double w00t) so it was a good deal!

the bad:
-the digital display is on top of the heater. it's inconvenient when i want to see the digital display screen from my bed
-no fan only option

the good!:
-quiet enough for me to fall asleep to (and i'm a light sleeper!)
-comes with a cute little remote controller with the same buttons as the heater and is very convenient if you don't want to get out of bed
-the heater beeps when you use the...

I got one of these last year because i wanted a strong heater in a small package, small footprint, to use in my bathroom, because the built in heater stopped working. It's perfect for heating a small room like that. Then i got another one for my bedroom, it's quiet, strong, and small, it fit into a small space near the bed. Then, i got a third one for the living room. The living room is a large room, and i use the heater like a small fire place, it really pumps out the heat. It's not going to heat the whole living room, but sitting next to it feels like sitting next to a small fire for warmth, very pleasant, not too hot when close to it, just a nice strong warmth. In the living room, the central heating doesn't do that well heating the lower part of the room on a cold night, the heat rises and it can be set on a high temperature and still be cold where we sit, so we use these heaters to warm up our space, nice source of heat, very portable, lightweight, sturdy. No complaints,...

2. Great For a Small Room
This is a handy little heater that serves its intended purpose well - heating a small room. I use it to take the chill off my computer room which is not usually heated like the rest of the house since I'm not in there all that often. The unit itself is plastic with a metal grille, but it feels very sturdy and well made. The fan noise level is acceptable. It is far from silent, but is quiet enough that it doesn't interfere. The controls are straight-forward. One dial is the power dial which has 4 settings: Off - Fan - Low - High. The other dial is the thermostat with an infinite range of settings between - and +. (I've found that just below the halfway point is very comfortable, but then again, the winters in California aren't exactly subarctic)

I'd recommend this for anyone with a small area to heat. a bedroom, computer room, sewing room, etc. (mine's in a room about 12 foot square). I doubt it would efficiently heat a room that was too much larger...
